The objectives of the German Parliamentary Forum on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
The German Parliamentary Forum on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights has committed itself to the Programme of Action of the International Conference for Population and Development (ICDP).
The objectives are:
- Equality for men and women
- Decrease in maternal and infant mortality
- Access to education, in particular for girls
- World-wide access to high quality services in the field of reproductive health including family planning, sexual health, HIV-prevention and sex education
- Prevention of sexual abuse such as genital mutilation, forced marriages, forced prostitution and slavery of any kind
The »Inter-European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development (IEPFPD)«
The German Parliamentary Forum on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights is since 2005 member of the Inter-European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development (IEPFPD) which supports discussion and cooperation between european parliamentarians regarding the objectives of the Cairo Programme of Action. The IEPFPD raises awareness amongst parliamentarians all over Europe of their duty to implement the Cairo Programme of Action and initiates hearings, study-trips and regional and international meetings to create a greater understanding about sexual and reproductive health and rights in the context of any development agenda.
